My Story
I started practising yoga following my hospitalisation after being diagnosed with Crohns disease in 2012. The illness left me feeling very weak from muscle wastage, arthritis and weight loss so I decided that a I needed a gentle form of exercise to aid my recovery.
What I soon noticed, was that my sleep patterns changed, my anxiety decreased and most of all I started to move in a way I hadn't been able to since my 20's. I was 45 and felt 25!
As my practice improved I started moving to more dynamic yoga classes and soon become totally and utterly hooked so when my yoga teacher (Diane Lee) invited me to join her Academy for Yoga Teacher Training in 2017, I jumped at the chance. What was once a dream turned into a reality and I qualified in 2018 and am now part of the Yoga Alliance Professionals.
Soon after qualifying I embarked on further training in the practice of YIN Yoga. This cooling practice layers beautifully with all styles of yoga but is much slower practice as it involves the engagement of connective tissue instead of the muscles and holding poses for longer.
I now teach Hatha and Yin and have been teaching since 2018. Every class leaves me feeling energised and joyful as I aim to bring you with me on this wonderful healing and uplifting journey.
